Today we head to the capital city of Thailand, Bangkok, in which we will visit the larger than life Reclining Buddha in Wat Pho.

One of Bangkok’s oldest temples, Wat Pho houses the world famous 46 meter long gold plated Reclining Buddha. Officially named Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimonmangkhalaram,
is one of the 6 first class royal temples in Thailand.

The “Reclining” posture is a representation of the passing of Buddha into the final nirvana after death.

As you can see, the statue is absolutely massive. It was very difficult to get a full shot photo due to the size and the large amount of tourist on site during the time of my visit.

I was also lucky enough to pass by Phra Ubosot to catch this lovely moment of children singing

Phra Ubosot is most sacred building and the main hall at Wat Pho where Buddhist rituals are performed.

On the site grounds are a number of Buddhist statues that as you can tell are very picturesque!
